INVITATION TO PELJESAC VINTAGE
It is not possible to visit Peljesac, Croatia’s second largest Peninsula, and not to see the Peljesac vineyards and enjoy the pleasure of tasting top quality wines. Quality soil and Dalmatian sun allow the grapes to produce abundant grape bunches, traditionally used to make Croatia’s most renowned wines that originate from the Peljesac peninsula: „Dingac“, „Postup“, „Plavac“ and „Peljesac“.
MANDARIN HARVESTING
The Satsuma mandarin, a seedless sort of Japanese origin, was brought to the Neretva valley in 1963. The center of its production is the town of Opuzen and the mandarin plantations spread through the Neretva valley from south of Metkovic down to the sea. The plantations are two kilometers in width and about 24 km in length. In the whole area of Neretva there are about 1,3 milion seedlings growing, expected to give a crop of approximately 70.000 tons of fruit in two or three years.
